WSU's Natyshak/Armin Win Regional Title

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– The second-seeded Wayne State duo of freshman Leila Armin (Troy, MI/Athens) and junior Natalya Natyshak (Windsor, Ontario/Vincent Massey S.S.) became the school's first-ever Omni Hotels Great Lakes Region champions with an 8-6 triumph over the top seeds from Northwood, Jenny Johannson (Gothenburg, Sweden) and sophomore Carina Kaempfer (Siegen-Netphen, Germany), on Sunday, Oct. 6 at the Indianapolis Tennis Center.

Armin and Natyshak now advance to the 2002 Omni Hotels Small College Nationals on October 17-20 in Corpus Christi, Texas. They spoiled Kaempfer's bid to repeat as the Great Lakes Doubles champion. She won the 2001 event with Lisa Neugebauer.
