Wayne State Falls To ‘Wolves, 7-2

Midland, Mich.—The Northwood University women’s tennis team defeated WSU, 7-2, in Great Lakes Intercollegiate action Friday night (Oct. 11) at the Midland Tennis Center. Wayne State falls to 6-6 overall and 4-6 in the league while NU improves to 6-3, 6-3.

The Warriors lone win in singles play was in Flight 6 as junior Monica Cushard (Sterling Hts., Mich./Warren Township) beat Kate Deupree 6-0, 6-1.

The doubles team of Natalya Natyshak and Leila Armin remained undefeated with an 8-5 victory over Carina Kaempfer and Jenny Johannson. It was the second time in the past week the duo defeated the Timberwolves.

Up next for Wayne State is a trip to Saginaw Valley Saturday (Oct. 12) at 10 a.m.
