WSU Hockey Banquet Set For March 23

The 2001-02 Wayne State University Hockey Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 23 beginning with registration at 10:30 a.m. in the HockeyTown Cafe in Detroit.

Following the awards ceremony in the Second City Theatre, lunch will be served. Tickets are available for $20 and can be purchased by calling toll free 1-866-WSU-TIKS.

Advanced reservations are required.

Zamora Earns All-GLWHA First Team

Kelly ZamoraWayne State University freshman forward Kelly Zamora (Oshawa, ONT) was selected to the Great Lakes Women's Hockey Association All-League First Team as announced this week.

Joining Zamora on the GLWHA first team were forwards Sara McDonald (Mercyhurst) and Sherrie White (Findlay), defensemen Jen Jeffrey (Mercyhurst) and Leanne Tunks (Findlay), plus co-goaltenders Desi Clark and Tiff Ribble from Mercyhurst. MC's Mike Sisti was selected Coach of the Year.

Brit Millar from Mercyhurst was named Tournament Most Valuable Player.
