WSU Drops Three Matches At Ohio State

The Wayne State University women's fencing team dropped all three dual meets at the Ohio State Duals. The Warriors fell to Northwestern (22-5), Notre Dame (23-4) and Ohio State (20-7).

Freshman Anna Vinnikov (Ma'alot, Israel) paced WSU with a 5-4 record in the Epée. Both junior Sarah Murray (Livonia, MI) and senior Amanda Collins (Yale, MI) went 0-9.

In the Sabre competition, senior Melanie Duda (Livonia, MI) had a 4-5 record, while freshman Jinelle Lawson (Sand Creek, MI) went 2-7. Senior Lesley Washburn (Detroit, MI) had an 0-9 mark.

Senior Inga Wallrabenstein (Osnabrueck, Germany) compiled a 3-5 record in the foil competition with sophomore Kathryn Hefner (Walled Lake, MI) going 0-6.

The fencing squad is idle until hosting the WSU Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 24.
