KENOSHA, Wis. – The Wayne State women’s cross country team had a very strong third place showing at the Midwest Collegiate Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, Sept. 21.

The Warriors had two women finish in the top five individually as well. Shelly Vickery (18:32) and Amy Averill (18:45) placed third and fifth, respectively. Jenny Furlong completed the 5000 meter race in 18:59, good enough for 15th overall. Other place-winners for the Warriors were Rachel Campbell (19:25, 32nd) and Lynn Moore (19:31, 35th).

Wayne State totaled 90 points, right behind runner-up Cedarville (Ohio). Northern Michigan won the team title with 32 points.
