Warrior Women in Nation’s Top 10

DETROIT – With its first team title in over two years at the Cardinal Cross Country Classic last Saturday, the Wayne State women’s cross country team moved up one spot, coming in at No. 10 in the latest Division II ranking, released Oct. 8.

The Warriors finished 16 points in front of Eastern Kentucky as senior Shelly Vickery placed second overall in Louisville, Kentucky.

WSU remains in third place in the Great Lakes Region behind Grand Valley State and Northern Michigan University.

After a one-week absence, Western State (Colo.) is back on top of the national poll and Adams State moved down to second.

The Warrior cross country teams co-host the Michigan Intercollegiate this Friday at Kensington Metropark in Milford.
