WSU Downed By Chargers In Three

DETROIT – The Warriors (10-13, 2-10 GLIAC) pushed Hillsdale (12-14, 2-11 GLIAC) to the end in game one, but lost 32-30 as the Chargers went on for the 3-0 match victory. HC won games two and three by the scores of 30-22 and 30-24.

Warrior senior Jaime Banners recorded a .435 hitting percentage on 11 kills off of 23 attempts and only one error. Junior setter Rebecca Hague had her ninth double-digit dig total with 10 digs added to her 28 assists.

Hillsdale’s outside hitters Stephanie Johnson and Busra Kurtuldu earned match-high honors with 15 kills each. Both Chargers had double-doubles (kills-digs) with 15 and 12, respectively.

The win snapped Hillsdale’s nine-match losing streak and extends WSU’s current streak to 11 losses.

Wayne State’s next match is Friday, Nov. 1 at Gannon.
