WSU Defeats Hillsdale in GLIAC Opener

The Warriors swept visiting Hillsdale to start its 2001 GLIAC season Wednesday, Sept. 19. WSU won 30-22, 31-29, and 30-18.

Senior middle hitter Anavia McClure (Detroit, MI/Detroit Henry Ford) had a 34.8 attack percentage on 12 kills and 23 total attempts, freshman middle hitter Missy Mohrbach (Bedford, MI/Bedford Senior) led all attacks with a 57.1 percentage on nine kills, and sophomore outside hitter Nicole Salisbury (Bedford, MI/Bedford Senior) led both squads in total kills with 13.

Overall Wayne State had a 35.5 team attack percentage with 47 kills and only 14 errors on 93 total attempts.

The Warriors return to action this Friday, Sept. 21 at home, hosting Findlay at 7 p.m. EDT.
