Wayne State Volleyball Drops
Two Matches Over Weekend

The Wayne State volleyball team dropped two matches over the weekend, at Hillsdale on Friday (Oct. 19) and at home against Northwood on Sunday (Oct. 21). The Warriors are now 5-17 overall, 1-11 in the GLIAC, while Northwood improves to 17-7, 8-5 in the GLIAC.

Against Northwood on Sunday, Wayne fell 22-30, 19-30 and 18-30. Senior Anavia McClure (Detroit/Henry Ford) led the Warriors with eight kills and three blocks, including one solo block. Sophomore Rebecca Hague (Leamington, Ontario) posted a team-high 19 assists, while sophomore Nicole Salisbury (Bedford) had nine digs to go along with her four kills.

Versus Hillsdale last Friday, Wayne dropped a 18-30, 13-30, 26-30 decision to the Chargers. Hague had 20 assists, while Salisbury posted a team-high eight kills. Salisbury also recorded a stellar 16 digs.

The Warriors will continue the season at home against Gannon (Pa.) at 4 p.m. in the Matthaei Building on Oct. 26.
