WSU Loses Two On The Road

The Wayne State volleyball team dropped two matches on Oct. 12-13, falling to Grand Valley last Friday and Ferris State on Saturday. The Warriors will continue the season at Hillsdale on Friday (7 p.m.) and take on Northwood in a makeup match on Sunday at 4 p.m. The makeup is a result of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11.

The Warriors, who are now 5-15 overall, 1-9 in the GLIAC, dropped a 12-30 , 19-30, 28-30, decision to GVSU. Sophomore Nicole Salisbury (Ottawa Lake/Bedford) led the team with eight kills, while sophomore Rebecca Hague (Leamington, Ontario/Secondary) posted seven kills and 11 assists. Salibury also posted a match-high 12 digs in the loss.

Against Ferris State on Saturday, the Warriors fell 28-30, 16-30, 27-30. Senior Anavia McClure (Detroit/Henry Ford) led Wayne with nine kills. Hague compiled 17 assists.
