SVSU responded with a run in the bottom of the first, before junior Tiffany Korzetz (St. Clair Shores/Lakeview) gave WSU the lead for good in the fourth with an RBI single. On the Korzetz single, sophomore Lindsay Sammut (New Baltimore/Lakeview) would add an additional run on an error by the left fielder that gave WSU a 3-1 lead.
