Wayne State's Amy Thiede
Named GLIAC Pitcher of Week

Detroit, Mich. – WSU junior Amy Thiede (Riverview) was named the GLIAC Pitcher of the Week, which was announced by the conference office on Tuesday, April 9.

Thiede posted a 3-0 record last week with victories over Hillsdale (April 5), Ferris State (April 6) and nationally-ranked Grand Valley State (April 7). Against Hillsdale, Thiede allowed just one hit in five complete innings. For the week, she threw three complete games, while posting a 1.10 ERA. She allowed three earned runs, while striking out 14 and walking three.

Thiede is 5-5 overall this season after winning her last three games. Before the winning streak, her previous victory came nearly a month ago at Florida Southern on March 11.
