The Warriors (21-13 overall), who are currently in first place with a 10-2 mark in the GLIAC, have won four straight and nine of their last 10 games. WSU will look to get back into the swing of things as the team played only one of its four scheduled games last weekend.

WSU defeated SVSU in game one, 9-0 in five innings, and took game two, 4-1. In their lone appearance over the weekend, Wayne State defeated Findlay, 3-2.

Warriors Ranked in Regional, National Polls
The Warriors are ranked in the top 10 of the latest NCAA Regional Poll, which was released on April 3. The first and second polls of the season rank 10 teams in each region in alphabetical order. For the third, fourth and fifth rankings, teams will be ranked 1-10. The Warriors are one of four GLIAC schools that are ranked in the Great Lakes Region (Findlay, Gannon, Grand Valley).

Additionally, a team with a record below .500 may be ranked during the first ranking; the ranking must be above .500 on all subsequent rankings.

Wayne State also received two votes in the NFCA National Top 25 poll, which was released on April 10.

The GLIAC vs. GLVC Showdown
The GLIAC vs. GLVC Showdown will take place on April 19-21 (Friday-Sunday) in South Bend, Ind. All schools from both conferences will play. Seeding will be announced on Wednesday with the first place team in each conference earning the No. 1 seed in the tournament, the second place team being seeded No. 2, etc. No matter what happens in GLIAC play over the next week, WSU will earn the No. 1 seed in its bracket with a 10-2 league record. Wayne State will battle many of the top teams in the GLVC (Great Lakes Valley Conference), including No. 3 Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and No. 16 Northern Kentucky.
