Both road doubleheaders are scheduled for 1 p.m. WSU and SVSU were scheduled to play a non-conference doubleheader in Saginaw on April 3, however, the games were cancelled due to inclement weather.

Last Time Out
In their last time out, the Warriors split a doubleheader at Grand Valley State on Sunday (April 7), falling to the Lakers in game one, 4-3, and winning game two 5-4.

In game one, WSU and GVSU stood tied at two, heading into a decisive eighth inning. The Warriors took a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth, however, the Lakers would score two runs in the bottom of the inning to win 4-3.

Highlighting WSU's play was sophomore Johanna Proulx, who hit her first home run of the season in a 2 for 3 performance. Junior Connie Milroth took the loss, allowing two earned runs, while striking out three.

In game two, the Warriors returned the favor by scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out a 5-4 victory. Wayne State was down 4-2 in the top of the fourth inning, before scoring a run in the bottom half of the fourth to cut the deficit to 4-3.

WSU totaled 14 hits in the game with senior Kelly Kashmerick, sophomore Maria D'Agostino, Proulx and junior Tiffany Korzetz each posting two hits a piece. Junior Amy Thiede picked up her third straight win, allowing just five hits, while striking out five.

Warriors Ranked in NCAA Regional Poll
The Warriors are ranked in the top 10 of the latest NCAA Regional Poll, which was released on April 3. The first and second polls of the season rank 10 teams in each region in alphabetical order. For the third, fourth and fifth rankings, teams will be ranked 1-10. The Warriors are one of four GLIAC schools that are ranked in the Great Lakes Region (Findlay, Gannon, Grand Valley).

Additionally, a team with a record below .500 may be ranked during the first ranking; the ranking must be above .500 on all subsequent rankings.

Amy ThiedeAmy Thiede Named GLIAC Pitcher of Week
Junior Amy Thiede was named the GLIAC Pitcher of the Week, which was announced by the conference on April 9. Against Hillsdale, Thiede (5-5 overall) allowed just one hit in five complete innings. For the week, she threw three complete games, while posting a 1.10 ERA.
