Warriors Post Victory At Findlay The Wayne State softball team managed to play only one of its four scheduled games over the weekend. In their one contest, the Warriors posted a 3-2 victory at Findlay on Sunday (April 14), before getting rained out in game two. Saturday's doubleheader at Ashland also was rained out. Versus the Oilers, WSU (21-13, 10-2 GLIAC) scored all three of its runs in the first inning. Senior Kelly Kashmerick (Flushing) led off the first by reaching on an error. She would score on an RBI double by sophomore Beth Berry (Blissfield), who would later score on a single by sophomore Maria D'Agostino (Wixom/Walled Lake Western). Sophomore Johanna Proulx (Brampton, Ontario) would add the third run with an RBI double that scored D'Agostino. Findlay would respond with runs in the fifth and seventh, however, it would not be enough. Berry went 2 for 3 with an RBI and run scored, while D'Agostino went 2 for 4. Junior Connie Milroth (St. Clair Shores/Lakeview) went the distance on the mound, allowing just two runs off five hits. The second game is yet to be rescheduled. Doubleheader Cancelled The softball doubleheader on Saturday, April 13 between Wayne State and Ashland was cancelled due to heavy rains in the Ashland, Ohio area. No makeup date has been scheduled.
