Davis and Singh Downed in Finals

MIDLAND, Mich.– Wayne State’s men’s tennis doubles team of Mike Davis and Rohan Singh made it all the way to the finals of the Omni Hotels 2002 Regional Championships, but fell to the top-seeded Ferris State duo of Jason Cole and Jan Talian, 8-5, on Sunday, Sept. 30.

Davis and Singh, ranked fourth in the tournament, won four-straight matches to get into the finals, including three by the score of 8-5.

The singles and doubles winners of this tournament will earn an automatic berth to the 2002 Omni Hotels National Small College Championships, which will take place at the H.E. Butts Tennis Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, from October 17-20. Winners at that event will receive wild cards into the Division I Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, hosted by SMU and the Brookhaven Country Club on November 7-10.
