The Wayne State University men's cross country team competed at the SVSU Invitational track meet on Saturday, April 13 at Saginaw Valley State University.
Junior Nick Allen led the Warriors with a first place finish in the 1,500 meter run and a second place finish in the 5,000 meters. His time of 14:44.18 betters his school record time of 14:45.46, which was set last year.
Junior Ryan Molloy also won a race, capturing the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:39.28. He bettered his personal best by 13 seconds in the event. Molloy came back later in the afternoon and ran 15:48.70 in the 5,000 meters. He bettered his personal best in this event by 47 seconds.
Junior Joe Verellen lowered his best ever mark in the 5,000 meters to 15:11.97. Sophomore Brian Goodwin finished third in the 10,000 meter race running 32:00.3, a personal best.
