Warriors Place 11th at NCAA Div. II Meet Wayne State men's cross country team placed 11th at the NCAA Division II Championships. The meet was held on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Slippery Rock, Pa. Junior Nick Allen led the Warriors, finishing 21st overall with a time of 32.37.8 and earned All-America honors. This was Wayne State's first appearance at the national cross country meet. Below are the five scoring finishers for the Warriors. The "overall" place includes runners not on teams scoring in the meet; there were 179 runners in the race. The "team" place includes only runners on teams scoring in the meet.
The Warriors finished with 320 points in the meet. Western State College of Colorado won the team title with 38 points, almost half of second-place Abilene Christian's total of 74. Wayne State also finished ahead of Lewis University, the team that defeated them at the NCAA Regionals two weeks ago. Lewis placed 12th overall at the championships with 321 points. |
