Three Warriors Selected To
All-Northeast Region Team

The Wayne State is proud to announce that three football players have been selected to the Daktronics, Inc. Division II Northeast Region Team. The three include Huston Julian (First Team selection), Pierre Brown (Second Team selection) and Thabiti Williamson (Second Team selection). This is the first time since the 1998 season that a Warrior has been selected to the All-Region team (Jimmy Hill was selected in 1998).

Julian, a senior tight end from Roseville, Michigan, had 27 catches this past season for 379 yards and three touchdowns. Julian averaged 14.0 yards per catch and 37.9 ypg, and was also selected this past week to play in the Division II Senior Cactus Bowl.

Brown, a junior wide receiver from West Bloomfield, Michigan, had 66 catches for 1,492 yards and17 touchdowns. Brown is the first WSU receiver to gain 1,000 yards receiving in a single season. Brown has 2,186 career yards which is second on WSU’s career list.

Williamson, a sophomore running back from Ann Arbor, Michigan, had 204 carries for 1,266 yards and five touchdowns. Williamson is the first running back to rush for 1,000 yards since 1994.

Wayne State finished the season with a 4-6 overall and GLIAC record.
